What to expect in our class

West Berkshire

Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) practise has great benefits on health and relaxation. It improves balance, strength, coordination, suppleness, as well as reducing back pain, stimulate circulation and promote general wellbeing.

The  class runs as follows: the first section consists of a gentle warm up session addressing all joints thoroughly, followed by  standing or Zhan Zhuang and end with either Flowing Arms exercises, Silk Reeling or Tai Chi walk. Soft Pushing Hands could be practised with a partner.   

After a short break, the second section is dedicated to learning and practising the Form: Laojia Yi Lu. 

Wear comfortable clothing and secure flat, non slippery shoes.

Although Tai Chi Chuan is considered by some to be ‘easy’, when practised correctly, it is a very strong technique, yet suitable for and benefiting everyone.

All abilities welcome.

Residential Home Classes

Specialised sessions lasting 30 – 45 minutes aimed at the needs of senior citizens. Exercises are much slower and gentler, and address balance through simple weight transfer exercises, joints and finish with some invigorating patting and stepping to stimulate the flow of circulation, of nerve endings and bone growth.
